If NSA is spying, why not block all US related traffic?

Reading all the blanket surveillance that the NSA performs for the US, perhaps it is time to consider a blackout of all US internet traffic. If all the other countries could unite to block all the traffic originating from US or going to the US, could pass the message that we the rest of the world do not like or want this kind of intrusion.
Personally I would miss some websites like Blogger, or google, or Wired, but I don't really care. All or almost all of the truly international US internet companies, have servers abroad as well as services based abroad. So all in all we might loose less that we think we would. I do not know, I am no expert, just thinking aloud...
