Kid's Bicycle Refurbishing

I found on the street a 16'' kid's bicycle in rough shape but the perfect size for my daugter to upgrade to (and in time for her birthday)

So: new pedals from a local bike shop 4€
New pair of tires from the same shop16€
New disney princesses stickers from your favourite online shop 10€
New pink rubber handlebars 1€
New brake pads 1€
New red chain 5€
New aluminum brake handles 2€
New brake teflon cables 2€
New red brake cable housing 3€
and some sanding, white and silver spray paint later got a practicaly new bike

From those the hardest to find were appropriate stickers for a kid's tube frame bicycle. Very expesinve too if you ask me, but at least were seemingly good quality. Those I found were for a different kind of frame but some scissors later, fitted pretty good.

Of course having spend 44€ for parts and not including my labour, one can get a new bike for a few more euros, but where is the fun and the enviromental responsibility in that?

I remember fondly back in Newcastle Recyke y'bike where old bicycles were given new life and resold to the public.
