A comment on a wired article inspired the above sketch.
Some money was spend to relocate some
turtles in the Mojave Desert to allow for installation of a concentrated solar electric system.
The comment simply stated (taken out of context here) that solar kills turtles.
For better or worse the article didn't say that. It said that "The existing infrastructure in the area mentioned by Hunter has already contributed to a decline in the number of tortoises". The article did not mention how that decline was taking place. So in the simple question "how does solar kills turtles?" I got back smartass commentaty "You know how I know you didn't read the article?" but no comment answering my question. It is unfortunate that Wired commentary has become similar to Gizmodo commentary. In the search for answers I realised how solar is killing turtles and mashed up the sketch above!
PS stories say that sea turtles make great soup. Why not land turtles as well?
