I propose that all advanced civilisations with enough knowledge to become space faring races, operating in a capitalistic style of society, wont be able to reach such interstellar space faring status before declining and getting extinct due to poisoning themselves with whatever means eg pollution, bioengineering, or planetary biosphere collapse and turning a blind eye to the fact due to financial short term gains.

Moon Jupiter Venus alignment

I was lucky enough to witness the following Moon - planetary alignment.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to photograph it or see the second day of the phenomenon, due to clouds, but I can say that the phenomenon was quite bright.
